I actually do own a Roomba. It's also hard to get kids to do chores when they see just parent doing all of the work. As for an allowance, they don't care. They don't want to do the work that they feel is mom's job. The loan officer was a woman btw and I wouldn't be paying child support if the kids lived with me. Thanks for the thoughts.
